Our county coroner gave a speech regarding the murder rate in this town. He stated that in almost every case, he had to call New Orleans to locate the family of the victim. As he stated, and I quote" Katrina washed all this trash out of New Orleans, and now. we're having to deal with it.
The most popular question for the coroner when he located the relatives, "Did he have any money in his pockets?" Even more disturbing, was the teenage black girl who asked the coroner if he could send her a sample of the victims blood, because " He might be my last baby's daddy, and I's gonna git me another check". That is the mentality we're dealing with today, and it just gets worse with time.
