But there are worker's comp insurance companies that penalize those companies with higher insurance premiums, which effectively reduces profits. A call to OSHA can lead to a surprise inspection. OSHA inspects without calls, too. I'm a welder in a factory, where safety is constantly stressed, a non-union factory. We have incentive programs IF we are safe company wide and dept wide. And still accidents happen. But to say ALL employers don't care about safe working conditions, is wrong.
