Rights the government gives are rights the government can take away. Savvy gays know that once they dispose of natural law and the sacredness of the individual that arises out of our Judeo-Christian heritage, they have given away their most powerful protection of all - their inherent dignity as human beings with free will. If a government finds it more in their interest (as in Netherlands) to bring in millions of Islamic gay-bashing client-voters, Dutch gay rights don't mean much any more. In the bad old days openly gay couples could walk on the streets of Amsterdam and maybe get stared at - now they frequently get beaten savagely by Muslim thugs.
