So true! My sister lives in a Chicago suburb and is a liberal (my parents didn't spank that one enough apparently). She and I got into a heated conversation about just this subject. I was mentioning Rahm Emmanuel's hatred of guns and his belief that law abiding citizens cannot be trusted with them, but HE is protected by armed guards. How is his protection somehow ok, but mine is not. She went off the deep end and yelled at me that Rahm speaks for 4 million people and he is a symbol of the city. I said--oh Hogwash. He is a public servant who is no better than I am, but he is worthy of armed protection, and I am not....interesting. She did not appreciate my comments. Oh well.
