I attempted to have an American Pro Gun Conversation with a number of Canadian Anti-Gun colleagues, and we were all very polite but they just kept saying in bewilderment, "But there's just no REASON to have a gun" no matter what I said. I began to feel as if I were shouting down the well and getting an echo for my pains, as my Southern Granny would have said. Canada and America parted ways right at the beginning because the Americans wanted to toss the King out and never have another King, and the Canadians didn't care who ruled them so long as they had peace, order and hockey, and somewhere in there the Canadians became convinced that Americans are nuts.
