I'd have to disagree that women a re "too lightweight to handle a gun."
I am not ashamed to admit that it was my mother who taught me to shoot. She routinely outshot my father, the state trooper, and his partners. She was carrying a .357 Magnum back in the 70s and wouldn't hesitate to use it if she thought it necessary.
She also had a brown belt in Tae Kwan Do and worked a second job as a bouncer.
