China's got a command economy, but the same things that killed Japan's economy will kill theirs. They have 64 million empty apartments they've built for people who can't afford them. They have vast cities and malls which are virtually empty. Sixty million Chinese still live in caves. And they have carved out a 25 million female shortfall with their One Child policy that virtually guarantees their demographics will come to a geriatric grinding halt. GE can marvel over that for a while. China can now smash trains together at speeds we only dream of. Darn. Dad, why aren't we commies too?
