I'm a CAL-EXPAT for all the reasons cited above. I have some fond memories of California, but at some point California became infected with a Cancer. It's illness is systemic and unfortunately will not be healed by an aspirin. Probably the biggest headache it has is the total lack of common sense, self interest and selfishness. California is ground zero where the genesis of the individual thought that the "government owes me because mindset" started to grow where it bred and became a communities collective thought which spread then throughout the nation. For political correctness we call it "special interest". "Special Interest" now has more punch and power than common sense.
