Americans who invested in Japan four or five years after WWII ended made out like bandits. An investment in the micro car manufacturer, Toyopet, multiplied their investments by several thousand percent when it changed its name to Toyota, and investors in the first Japan-specific mutual fund also multiplied their investment by several thousand percent. Why shouldn't Americans invest in Japan, or China, or Vietnam? w.
