The real key of the armed guards issue is the common sense approach that self-reliant citizens stop such acts from occurring in the first place. It doesn't require armed guards in every school but it does expect the public to take whatever action necessary to stop such people.-including killing them by any means necessary. it would have been assumed historically that several school officials were armed and prepared to deal with such people. And the law protected the person that killed the scum- not the scum.
