Belief in God -- or any creator -- is far different from belief in religious dogma, which is little more than an extension of politics. I believe in God - not religion. I have a great deal of respect for the basic tenets of Christian belief: The Ten Commandments, The Golden Rule. Turn the other cheek. Forgiveness and redemption. All serve as a good blueprint for life. But so much of religion is about control, and condemnation: 'Believe as I believe, do as I command, or you shall perish. For I know the true mind of God.' That's rubbish. You know nothing more than I do, and probably a lot less.
