I have to disagree with you on this. Non-profits are among the most profitable enterprises in the country. Collectively 2.3 million "non profits" had total assets of nearly 4 trillion in 2008, and that only included those with assets over $500,000. Not only are their assets tax free, their reporting is less complicated than what millions of ordinary taxpayers have to do. They took in 2 trillion and that is only those big enough to file.
