Your SS account - if there even really was one - yields perhaps 2% interest, which is nowhere near what a long term low risk market investment portfolio would yield. But hey, if you want Such a yield and are willing to trust it to people whose fiscal house is trillions in debt, go ahead. Just don't come after my hard-earned retirement dollars to bail you out when you find out your "investment" was squandered on failed "green energy companies" with loses covered by moët borrowed from China. Oh yeah; you'll have to pay back the Chinese loan. Also, privatizing SS is an opt-in program for young people yet to enter SS. Chile successfully did this decades ago.
