So the "only" way to protect children is "security fencing and 100% police protection?" Care to define "security fencing?" Would that include concertina wire and guard post? Does 100% police protection mean 1 policeman per student? Of course I assume all people entering would be strip and body cavity searched to make sure no 'weapons" are carried in. That should really help preserve our free society. It would also avoid the possible solution of allowing concealed carry for qualified teachers and administrators. We sure don't want that since that is too obvious and inexpensive.
