I was born in the 1940s so I used to be a Swedish-American, proud to have all capital letters to describe my heritage, now I am merely white the only heritage with a small letter as if we are ashamed to be Northern European, the heritage that invited gender equality (different but equal) in which our history shows we were always less sexist than any other people of all ages, reflected in us now....we are less sexist than the heritages of those with proud double capitalized names.
