If you read the article, you already know a gun-toting assistant principle stopped a school shooter in his tracks. Why couldn't a gun-toting third grade teacher do the same thing? As stated in another reply, perimeter security is fine up until the time someone gets past it. Then the same restricted access which made the perimeter more secure acts as choke points, keeping the unarmed victims from escaping.
