Conservatives do not understand the nature of government. They believe that it can be a rational and ethical process. It is not. It is about dominance, power and strength. The natural form of government for humans is some sort of autocracy. Monarchies, dictatorships or some other form of hierarchic systems is what all forms of democratic government eventually gravitate towards. This is where the left has an advantage, since it is this very thing that they work towards.
