I grew up in a rural area of Souther Maryland, on a tobacco farm in the 60s and 70's. Everyone, and I mean everyone in my area had a guns. Often in plain sight in their homes. My grandfather, the proud dad of eight beautiful daughters, kept his shotgun in the corner of his bedroom. Everyone hunted, or had guns for protection. I don't know of one, not one incident of anyone being shot or going on some shooting rampage. It is the culture, not the guns. I agree that stricter gun "laws" would only jeapordize law-abiding citizens. Criminals, by definition, would have no regard for such laws. The Liberal/Progressive's refusal to look at these types of issues rationally, is simply astounding.
