I worked for the CA Dept of Public Health beginning in 1980. When starting out, I had the misfortune of being assigned to collecting and evaluating epidemiological data--this meant surveying and asking questions of the subjects spreading venereal diseases in the Bay Area. Getting straight answers from homosexuals about their contacts and what places they visited was very difficult. They were so embarrassed by their own disgusting behavior that most of them would lie at the most insignificant question. Some were even ashamed at the number of potential contacts that they may have infected with any of a number of infectious agents. The acts they performed to infect each other were about as vile as you can imagine, but, in short, they often inv
