Gentle Readers, My Dear Ms. Herzog, Your thesis is interesting, but in my opinion, far too insufficient. The 19th century model being used by modern universities is simply outdated. Today,most students are served by community colleges and proprietary schools. Increasingly, online education is becoming the norm. There's no need for anyone seeking education to waste years and thousands of dollars of unproductive time and money at a university campus. Who needs a ' spring break ' for spring planting? Only farmers, and none of them are on campus - they're at the proprietary schools or online. Who needs summer vacations? Why pay for room & board when learning can be done within an easy commute of your home? Universities waste students
