Yeah, argumentum ad hominem! In what ways were the Puritans "dispicable [sic]"? Was it their strong faith in God and the Scripture? Was it their uncompromising stand for purity of worship and doctrine? Was it their belief in the evil of sin? Was it their industriousness? Was it their belief in the exclusivity of Christ?
You are right about one thing: American Conservatism owes the institutions it is attempting to preserve in large part to the Puritans and other Calvinists. That's why non-Christian endeavor to preserve them will ultimately fail. If you fail to convince people of the Nature, Truth, and Perspicuity of the Scriptures, then why should they believe in the institutions they helped to build and strengthen?
