Unions have in the past served a useful purpose...not just in "protecting" wage-earners, but in providing training and vocational standardization.
The problem, of course, is they've been allowed to become way, way too involved in the political process under cover of "workers' rights."
Now, there's nothing wrong with being involved in the political process - those who complain about that apparently have never read the bill of rights - but they are IMMUNE from censure or limitations that regular businesses must adhere to. Not least of which, is the Democrat party's insistence on turning a blind eye and deaf ear to union-inspired VIOLENCE.
There was a time - really a rather brief one - where "big business" hired truncheon-wielding thugs...
