But, perhaps sweinstein, you'd also like your party to win a presidential election. I'd say Mr. Goldberg was gentle about this as he knows his base contains many Christian conservatives. This has nothing to do with social justice or anything like that. It has to do with some people, who could make Republicans the majority party, are not joining because of the reason he states. And there is no reason it should feel like a Christian Club. That would not be the position of Abraham Lincoln, whose wife and partner both felt he was not a Christian. None of this is stating a problem with Chrisitanity, but with the Republicans being dominated by them.
