On this argument, and as a retired English teacher, today's community college kids are reading at a (low) 4th grade level. Remedial classes are required, and having seen today's headlines, it's obvious that the professional necessity to review with students prior to the end of the first semester will be done by substitute teachers while the protesters are paid, while calling in "sick."
