How is a Constitutional Amendment (which is what federal term limits would require per SCOTUS) ever pass the Congress and get to the states? If we don't have the courage to vote out our own Congressman or Senator, what makes anyone think that we (collectively) will have the courage to elect 2/3s of both houses to ensure such an amendment would be passed out to the states (and therefore the voters)? Both sides of the aisle have too sweet a deal to screw it up by limiting their reelection. How about repealing the 17th Amendment? Go back to having senators appointed by the states instead of being allowed to buy their election using taxpayers' dollars.
