Back in the '50's and '60's, it was considered shameful if your wife had to work, outside the hope. You just weren't doing your job as a husband and father.
We started each school day with the Lords Prayer and the Pledge Of Allegiance . There were always plenty of Jewish kids in class and they never said they felt slighted.
Friday night the stores were open until 9:00 and the sidewalks were crowded with shoppers. Now, all the stores are either empty or selling crumby junk no one wants.
The thing is, the 'THEY' everyone blames, are our friends, relatives and colleagues. 'They' is some distant, faceless foe. But, 'They' are sitting right across the room from you now.
