I'm inclined to agree, but "social liberalism" can still only go so far before fiscal conservatism is overrun by it. If one has no morals in their own life, why care about other people's money? And no, not even the extremely socially liberal Greeks and Romans had ghey marriage if that's where you're trying to go with this.
