It's about control. Trust fund babies, flash-in-the-pan wealthy athletes and celebrities, and even lottery winners all succeeded mainly by luck, and are easily controlled by rich parents, adoring fans and the need to be recognized. Their charitable offerings are seldom from the heart, but instead from a constant need to be noticed and accepted. Turn off the cameras and many of those good deeds would go away.
Those who succeed by grinding out at work day-to-day and building a nest egg over their lifetime have demonstrated self-reliance. This is completely contrary, even contemptuous, to the liberal mindset that we all need them and their government. The have no control over us.
