In regards to your final statement there: Yes, Lon, it absolutely does. For those of us getting slammed by the Federal income tax it is the greatest portion of the tax burden. Unless you make more than $105k this year I will pay more in just Federal income taxes than you make. I will likely pay about $35k more in Soc Sec, medicare, state, local, county and real estate taxes as well. So yes, it is the Federal income tax burden that is the ONE big-ticket item for those of us greedy productive types (you know, those people that pay more than 60% of the Fed income tax burden AND a disproportionate share of state, local, Soc Sec and medicare taxes as well). What's your Fed income tax burden this year or last?
