It's interesting that the discussion this time around has centered on "revenue." Last few times the discussion was joined the terms were still somewhat general but more susceptible to rational critique. For example, the most careful (or simply most ignorant) politicians talked about "raising taxes," omitting the word "rates." It wasn't alway clear whether they understood the issue until the subject of rates paid by small businesses was raised. Then we could tell.
The whole "revenue has to be part of the solution" narrative is deceiving on it's face because we know the Democrats want to raise rates. In many cases it's hard to tell whether this is because of ignorance or a perverse need to punish success, but that's what they're up to.
