I've encountered this several times in my job. I've heard youth talking about getting "my check" and wondered what check. Come to find out, many of them are deemed disabled/handicapped in the form of learning disabilities. It's almost like an entire system is set up beginning in grade school with the "ADD" kids. Get an MD and a psychiatrist in on it and the kid winds up with a script for Ritalin and a "check". By the time the kid hits ninth grade or 18 years old (whichever comes first) he's got his own kids getting a "check". In these households you have grandma, mom, kid, and grandkid all getting a "check". JOB? We don't need no stinking job!
