Jbrantley: I think you are missing the point: The fundamental question is not how long it took for things to show up, or exactly how they showed up. The fundamental question is this: Was the process directed by an intelligence, or was it random? If it was random, then by definition all the outcomes (including all of us) have no real worth, because a random outcome by definition cannot have special significance. You may argue, "But I have value"; however, your perceived "value" exists only in your mind, and nobody anywhere is obligated to agree with your evaluation of your own worth. Nor are you obligated to agree with theirs.
