Clinton couldn't get Hillarycare passed and he was dragged kicking a screaming into welfare reform. He also had a Republican congress after his first two years to restrain his natural big spender tendancies. Military spending may need to be cut in some areas, but this nonsense about comparing how much we spend to how much our potential adversaries SAY they spend, (oh heavens ... you don't think China, Russia, North Korea, etc. would LIE about something like that, do you?), is fallacious. We choose to spend money on technology and better training than they do. That keeps us from having to send a disproportionate number of troops out to DIE against cheap, mass casualty -producing weapons like napalm and cluster munitions. If you don't...
