Caveat The market in Chomsky's viewpoint might be free but the people are not. It still requires a gun in the face. Hayek, the founding father of modern socialism noted that in the welfare state (which is the world Chomski inhabits) the means of production are not the determining factor in redistribution taxation is. Perhaps Chomski got his idea from Hayek (the Nobel Prize winner) and didn't want credit Hayek for it. I wouldn't be surprised since socialists (thieves) like to steal other peoples stuff.
