TWO: Do NOT get into a power struggle with them. They have a lot more time and they are not near as tired as you are. They will ALWAY win a power struggel. Negotiate, compromise whatever you have to do.
Example: In eighth grade my daughter said. I'm staying at the dance until midnight. I said Noooo. I pick you up at eleven. She said I AM STAYING UNTIL MIDNIGHT. I never said another word. I DID call the parents of her friends to make sure THEY were picking up their kids at eleven, and they were. When I dropped her off at the dance I said, I will be here at eleven. If you are not out here I will come in a get you.
At eleven, no problem. She was there with her friends waiting to be picked up.
