In light of this, I can make the argument of "what's stopping these corporate controlled and corrupt politicans from voting away the rights of the 100%?". A direct democracy solves for corruption because it would eliminate the only way for lobbyists to promote thier interests over those of the general people, thus meaning decesion making is more reflective on that of the population rather than a small group of elites.
