I often find Bozell ridiculous, but I'm with him on this one. Our mass culture has became rude, crude, and stupid. And it's especially discouraging to have it being such a powerful influence on our kids.
I'm not only non-religious, I'm anti-religious. To me, this is not a religious issue. It's an issue of civility and intelligence. You don't have to believe in an involved god to know that we are debasing ourselves by over-focusing on our basest instincts. I'm not buying into Angus Jones' religious posture, but I applaud him for taking a serious look at himself and the industry in which he's been working. He's clearly a good guy who's trying hard to make sense of the world.
