Yeah...clearly ordinary citizens can't be trusted in their capacity as voters. But get Sowell talking about free markets v. regulation and suddenly these same citizens are all wise and grown-up and don't need to be educated by their "betters."
Sowell does this all time. Either lionizing or demonizing the "ordinary citizen" and his decision-making depending on which view better fits the conservative narrative on that given topic. You can't have it both ways.
