If you're going to take that position then you need to calculate the costs of your caution. You also need to distinguish the difference between being a good steward and atmospheric CO2. There's nothing inherently bad about CO2. It's is a requirement for life. Poverty, which is the end result of your "caution" will create much more ecological harm than prosperity. Pull your head out.
