Thanks to Suzanne Fields. What a fine review of the essence of Lincoln. She leaves the film review up to movie critics. Because here's the thinking man's argument for Lincoln. Spoken to viewers by first; a director who usually directs cliched productions; not serious history. Saving Private Ryan was a rather ugly D Day movie. Schindler's List, his most serious job, was morbid AND ugly. Lincoln, I believe, will live on. Spielburg's greatest, because it's 100 % American. The other speaker on Lincoln's behalf is Daniel Day-Lewis. Damn, he is good! An actor who never over-acts; yet blows the socks out of the role. He made Lncoln come to life !
