Actualy there's an example even better than TBall, and that is=, believe it or not, an episode of Star Trek from the 1960s, entitled "A Taste of Armageddon" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Taste_of_Armageddon): Two planets had been at war for ages, & the "war" had become an agreement that, if the computer said their attack killed 100,000 people, you killed 100,000 of your own on the theory that this was far less destructive that a real war. Kirk & Co destroyed the death chambers and made the two planets fight a real war - or negotiate an end to it. "It is good that war is so horrible, or we might grow to like it." Robt E Lee. Isreal needs to stop playing and have a real war - or negotiate a real peace.
