Ah, but if the answer to the drug war violence is to "legalize the drug," - as you potheads frequently infer - then you can hardly limit the legalization to marijuana, alone. If you do, then the cartels simply shift focus to what remains illegal in order to continue making their profits. Marijuana kills in the same way that cigarettes (respiratory damage and other health detriments) and alcohol (DUI) do. Why would we want another recreational drug like them added to the list of "problems in society" in an age of increasing welfare / socialism?
