Back at the end of 1992/begin of 1993 a lot of Czechs and Slovaks thought that setting up a border across the country was nuts. It was a project mostly of the intelligentsia. Now it is done, and that is what they live with. Modern Spain was formed by the union of Aragon and Castile, Ferdinand and Isabella. Modern day Catalonia is only a part of Ferdinand's old kingdom of Aragon. (Today's Aragon is the province west of Catalonia.)
