Same type of thing happening with fishing in GA, SC, NC and Fl Atlantic Coast. Some of our main bottom fishing is for the Red Snapper and Black Sea Bass. The Federal agency in charge is the SAFMC. They admit there are NO surveys of actual Black Sea Bass populations. They come up with a target target number however for how many Black Sea Bass can be caught and then end the season when that many can be caught. The problem though is I can go catch over a 100 Sea Bass a day, and they are so plentiful they are eating and destroying the juvenile red snapper and taking over the reefs from other fish The fishing bans which are harmful and not needed, have a large economic impact on the coastal towns and small businesses in the area.
