Marie challenged me earlier on Christmas & Easter not being pagan holidays. Settle yourself children & I shall relate where these two holy days spring from from a Heathen & Pagan perspective. For those who do celebrate these two holidays only one has _ANY_ biblical basis. The Resurrection was given as the first day of the week following Passover & the Jewish Sabbath. Math. 28 : 1 - 10. This usually ends up being near the Vernal Equinox which is the holiday of Spring or the holiday of the Deity Eostra/Astarte. Her symbols were the rabbit & eggs. Eggs were colored or dyed by the faithful in bright colors with symbols of Her marked upon the eggs & then hidden for the children to find.... That pretty much deals with Easter.
