The GOP does have a problem with us. I'm from the rural south, am a lifetime gun owner, and a Marine veteran. The GOP does NOT want me. Because I'm also gay and atheist. And the GOP has made it more than clear how they feel about both gays and atheists. Do you honestly think I'd EVER vote for Bachman or Santorum? And even if the GOP leaders started reaching out to us, that won't change the fact that the GOP base is full of bigots. I can go to any gay-related story on sites like this and read many, many, MANY homophobic comments from GOP voters. Make no mistake: Obama and the democrats could totally crash the economy... and still I'd never vote republican. It's no longer political---it's personal---because the bigots made it so.
