There was a good article, I can't remember where I read it (salon or slate maybe?), but basically two guys and a grad student figured out how to balance the federal budget with and without extending the bush tax cuts. It raised the entitlement eligibility age to 67, it cut about 40 billion from the military, ended a few government programs, and bam balanced budget.
They said was it perfect? Heck no. But it took 3 people less than a day to find a reasonable solution. Why can't these guys figure anything out?
