All that you said was true, as it usually is, but you overlook a very serious matter: the loss of our freedom.
Our nation survived this long because we were free, politically, culturally, economically, and religiously.
What we chose, in this election, was an endorsement of an un-American political philosophy, one that trades our freedoms for (empty) promises of free goodies from the government.
In effect, America has chosen not to be America any longer. Thus there is no solace in the reasons you give for optimism. There is no recovery from this disaster, save for a mass rediscovering of founding American principles--and that wasn't on your list.
