I've long maintained that conservatives need to adopt a page (or three) from the liberal playbook, that is, assuming conservatives genuinely desire to have and exert a voice in the public square. Principle is all fine and good but depending on the opponent, oftentimes can spell defeat--see British Redcoats and skirmish lines vs. American militias using guerrilla tactics.
Conservatives should be far more vocal in illustrating the hypocrisy of liberal/progressive policies, should repeatedly remind voters that we are the current and historic voice of the "common man," whereas progressives have been and remain the province of slavery, elitism, division and wealth. If they bring a knife, you bring a gun? Yep, sound advice!
