By kowtowing to the religious right, the GOP is losing the votes of the younger 18-29 voters, and a good bit of Gen X. You say, so what? Well, the demographic that is most Republican is older and will eventually die off, being replaced by voters that are not as socially conservative. How do you maintain a majority party that is mainly white? How do we get more votes from Asians and Hispanics? We will never get over 50% of the Asian and Hispanic vote due to their economic liberalism, but we certainly need more than 25-30%. I don't have the answer to these questions, but GOP leadership needs better messaging to get more young and minority votes to the REpublicans.
